6th Pay Commission approved by Union Cabinet
The long awaited 6 th Pay Commission recommendations (Pay Scale) has been approved by Union Cabinet of India. The recommendations of 6 th Pay Commission will increase the salary of around 5.4 million Central Government employees. The revised pay scale would be effective from 01-01-2006. The revised hike will hit Central Budget of FY 09 to the tune of 15,717 crore and Railway Budget by 6,414 crore. The average hike for Central government employees is around 21%.
