BSNL Slashed prepaid tariffs

BSNL the largest telecom operator in India has slashed local STD and Sms tariff for its prepaid mobile subscribers. The new 'All in 49' scheme in which prepaid subscriber can call local, STD and Sms at 49 paise per minute. BSNL has also reduced the price of this special tariff voucher. Rs. 29 tarriff voucher is valid for 180 days and Rs 49/- voucher is valid for 365 days. By this Special Tariff Voucher (STV) all local call, STD and Sms will be charged at 49 paise. BSNL has withdrawn 'Golden 50' plan and this new plan 'All in 49' plan will be effective from 1st November 2009.

Ministry of Telecom and Information Technology have issued directives asking telecom operators to block all mobile phones who don't have IMEI No. IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number is unique to every GSM , UMTS , iDEN , as well as some satellite phones. BSNL Excel Prepaid: Unlimited GPRS access on Mobile

There are many who don't know that they can avail unlimited GPRS access on BSNL excel prepaid mobile also on fixed monthly recharege and surf unlimited internet from laptop or desktop. You just have to recharge GPRS access voucher of Rs. 197 (Uttar Pradesh) from BSNL Shoppe or BSNL customer care outlet. The normal BSNL GPRS charges on BSNL prepaid mobile service is 0.02 Paisa per KB which is very costly. If one wants to surf internet through PC or laptop then surfing can become very costly affair but by recharging it with Rs. 197 voucher one can use unlimited GPRS. A good news for Prepaid Mobile users in India: TRAI have instructed telecom operators of India to remove the processing charge, charged on prepaid recharge cards. TRAI has also instructed mobile operators not to charge any fees from customers who want to convert their numbers from prepaid to postpaid subscriptions. TRAI has said that mobile operators can maximum charge Rs. 2/- as administrative charge for prepaid top ups. TRAI instructions have come up to improve transparency in tariff rates and to protect the interest of mobile users in the country.
